With the security risk of public invite forums, along with the high percentage of useless posts concealing the good material, tighter BitTorrent communities are becoming much more popular. Of course, with smaller userbases, it is necessary for all users to be active, which has been the downfall of many “elite” forums such as the notorious failure that is “Become A Star” (BAS). Now a new, closed-community forum called BTC is recruiting for good members.
If you’re looking for tracker invitations, BTC is not for you – BTC currently has no forum for invitation giveaways or requests – the community is simply there to discuss trackers. So why would you want to join? Well, close-knit communities such as BTC have some major advantages over larger forums; for one, the community will make you feel welcome, and if you participate and are active within the community, you can guarantee you will make some good friends. In addition, closed communities tend to attract more experienced torrenters, so there are good opportunities to learn from those who have been around for a long time.
With the bulk of the members having known each other from a now-defunct forum, there is a dinstinct sense of community around BTC. The level of experience around the forum, from the users as well as the staff, can only help BTC to flourish into a popular community.
BTC – we cannot show the full name or URL – opened only 5 days ago, yet has some impressive stats; BTC’s 63 members have posted 948 times so far, as well as chatting in a busy IRC channel. The most active forums – aside from the introduction forum where the majority of existing members welcome the new guys – are the movie, music and software forums.
